Like many of his intricate and quirky etchings, Glynn Thomas is an East Anglian original. Born in Cambridge and educated there during the height of 1960s creativity, Glynn moved to Suffolk in 1968 and has been one of the county’s resident printmakers for more than 40 years, charming people with his offbeat interpretations of their favourite places. He uses ancient techniques and materials to put a fresh spin on the familiar, creating something new and thought provoking.

This book gathers together for the first time an abbreviated history in words and pictures of the artist and his work. While the original brief for this book was to expose the breadth and depth of his ‘local’ knowledge, Glynn has taken the opportunity to showcase some of his favourite ‘foreign’ subjects.

From Norfolk nature and windmills, via Cambridge colleges and Suffolk streets, to Essex estuaries and harbours, this is an unforgettable journey through the four counties of East Anglia and beyond. And, no matter how often you turn the pages, there will always be something you missed last time around. You may think you know these places well, but once you’ve viewed them from Glynn’s ‘different perspective’ they will never look the same again.
