Mini Cards
All of our Norfolk-made cards are intentionally blank inside for your own message, supplied with quality envelope. We use paper from responsible sources. There are three ranges of mini-cards. Two of them measure 105mm wide x 75mm deep, while the other measures 98mm square. The first series of rectangular cards features an image adapted from Norwich artist Vanna Bartlett's insect and spider illustrations appearing in the book Arthropedia - an illustrated alphabet of invertebrates (2020). The back reproduces the page from the book that features the species depicted. We have 16 different designs: moths; bees; butterflies; beetles; dragonflies - and one spider!
Our second range, of small square cards, is based on our 2021/22 limited edition books A Wildlife Alphabet and An Alphabet of Birds by printmaker Colin Blanchard, and features one of his black/white linocut animals on the front, with a short accompanying verse on the back of the card. The 22 designs feature the Avocet, Otter, Chiffchaff, Hedgehog, Rook, Rabbit, Swift, Fox, Badger, Whinchat, Shrew, Dipper, Wildcat, Nuthatch, Osprey, Pipistrelle Bat, Gannet, Lobster, Newt, Adder, Toad and Queen Bee. The images are reproduced as they appear in the book, with the text in red and the cards supplied with a red envelope that reflects the red case binding of the tiny edition.
The third series is of 16 Norfolk-themed designs, using images and wording developed for our calendars, A2 and A3 posters, postcards and full-size greetings cards sold in our shop Stalham Books & Art. Many of these poster images also appear in our 2021 book A Postcard from the Norfolk Broads. The locations include Cromer, Wells-next-the-Sea, Horsey, HIckling Broad, Barton Broad, Wroxham, Potter Heigham, Happisburgh, Hunsett MIll, the River Thurne and Blakeney Point.
These cards are sold only as selections of 6, for £6 inc UK P&P. Additional designs will be added at a later date. We use a high-quality 300gsm Invercote card and have printed these mini-cards in Norwich. The accompanying envelopes are brown flecked Kraft type, grey, red or plain white. We can supply individual cello wraps on request.
