This is the first book of beautiful miniature bird portraits, painted oil on board, by Cornwall-based Daniel Cole – an artist focused on highly original landscapes and with a contemporary approach to British birds. This is the first volume of a two-book series reproducing the bulk of his bird portfolio, and each painting is accompanied by a sketch produced specifically for this project. ‘BIRD PAINTINGS VOL I’ concentrates on woodland, pasture and garden species, including finches, woodpeckers and even the occasional owl. This is a numbered and signed limited edition of just 400 copies, sold alongside a second volume of coastal and wetlands species. Like the other books in our new series, it measures 150mm square, is printed (in the UK) on high-quality paper from responsible sources. The book covers are textured coloured paper (green) with gold foil block inlaid type.
